moreattractivejulieJulie Milligan Hughes is a developmental psychologist whose areas of expertise include ethnic attitude development in children and adolescents, the development of young people’s understanding of interethnic relations, and the effects of discrimination awareness on child, adolescent, and young adult development.

Dr. Hughes was on the faculty of TCNJ’s Psychology Department from the fall of 2008 through the fall of 2016.  In addition to conducting research and lab-based instruction in her areas of expertise, she taught courses on lifespan development (PSY 220), adolescent development (PSY 370/special topics seminar), the process of psychological research (PSY 299), and a capstone course in the psychology of parenting (PSY 470).
